try running spybot: search and destroy or any spyware removal/detectors..
And if Spybot/Ad-aware fail you, google for the name of the bar and there'll probably be a way to remove it with Hijackthis and regedit
And for the future, lose IE, get Firefox, and get a firewall 
F*** ALL SPYWARE!!!

ihartmacz, if you can succesfully get rid of this please post and let me know know how. I have been battlling this for about 4 months now. I took the plunge and went to Firefox, but it doesn't have the speed IE does.

Huh?FireFox has exactly as much speed as IE does. Firefox probably just doesn't seem as fast...

Why I think you should use Firefox or Mozilla instead of IE
1. Only use Internet Exporer for browsing you files and testing compatibility of your web pages offline. IE is so closely tied to Windows it makes me have to crap my pants.
Firefox and Mozilla have absolutly nothing to do with Windows accept they are compiled to run on it as well as other OSs.
2. Firefox and Mozzila will be continued in development past the fore-see-able future. Microsoft looks like it is abandoning IE past the longhorn final verson. It's best you seek a browser that will keep you safe as an external part of Windows.

Scan, Scan, and SCAN some more!
1. Run Spybot Search and Destroy, be sure IE is closed. And run the update feature. Fianlly Start the scanner. When done follow the step on the screen to delete the parts of the infected registry.
2. Run Ad-Aware and update. Then scan. Finally click next to remove anything that was found.
3. Run Hijackthis and update. Then scan. Finally check all the entries, Hijack this will back-up all the removed stuff to the dekstop. I just deleted my backups.
4. Get some music playing if you haven't already. I’m playing the Dead Kennedys, you can insert any band/songs and or Play list here!
5. Get a decent Fire wall. I recommend Kerio

Oooo, spooky - I just discovered this exact same toolbar on IE myself (I use FireFox, but the rest of my family don't >.< ) Oh well...

to remove the spyware toolbar go to the home site of this toolbar and search for the remove tools on this page(at the bottom etc..)
there's allways a remove tools for such toolbar
I've had to remove similar toolbars at my old job, the way I did it was using Sysinternals Process explorer, load up IE (with ugly spying toolbar) and load up process explorer, select View > Lower Pane View > DLL's, this will show you the DLL's the selected process is using.
Select IE in Process Explorer and look for a DLL that normally will reside in the Documents and Settings folder once you found it terminate all instances of IE (for all users on the computer), go to the directory and rename the file from *.dll anymore to *.ass (or anything else that does not execute).
Take a search in the registry for anything relating to the dll's original filename, and kill it.
After doing that if you load up IE it shouldn't have the toolbar anymore. But leave it to other users to reinstall it again soon 
The problem with these toolbars is that their filenames are randomly generated and some spyware removal programs can't find them easily.

it's from msn plus. i guess you didn't read about the sponsor program, but you can just uninstall msn plus and reinstall it (but say no to the sponsor program).
The tools what i'm using are very effective: StartupList and HijackThis
StartupList (zipped): A simple tool that lists all and every auto starting program on your system. You might be surprised what it finds, this is way better than Msconfig. Commonly used to troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, trojan/viral infections, new spyware/malware breed and the likes.
HijackThis (zipped): A general homepage hijackers detector and remover. Initially based on the article Hijacked!, but expanded with almost a dozen other checks against hijacker tricks. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs/URLs, just the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites. As a result, false positives are imminent and unless you are sure what you're doing, you should always consult with knowledgable folks (e.g. the forums) before deleting anything.A rudimentary HijackThis log tutorial by me is available here.
