I frequently copy down a bunch of little chunks of text or links and as a result my desktop becomes filled with a bunch of .TXT documents.
Does anyone know of a program that takes up very little memory space and has an intuitive way of giving me access to many different 'notepads' at once, maybe switching between them with side-tabs?

I found a program called "Personal Notepad," available here: http://melchart.com/software/?t=2.
This allows tabbed notepads. Disable the "Check for New Version At Startup" Option, and the programs is about 5000 K. That's not too bad, considering ObjectDock takes up about the same. Do you want it to be OS X themed?

Supports multiple files, and just about anything else. Runs on Windows and *nix.

No more .txt files all over the place You can even roll up and hide stickies to use less desktop space.
Heh, sorry. I wanted something users like. I tried maybe 5 calendar programs and gave up and luckily stumbled upon Rainlendar and it was the one I was looking for.
Sticky notes probably wouldn't work because I have huge chunks of text. But "Personal Notepad" is the one that comes closest. What does Avetext look like? I see a screenshot of just one window here: http://www.osx-e.com/modules.php?modid=1&action=show&id=131

The only thing that annoys me personally is that it has a taskbar notification icon-
