What Open Source Software Do You Use?

Lately I've been trying to change alot of my software to OSS stuff, to replace free trials i keep reinstalling, and *cough*other software*cough*

So far I have:

Open Office,

Firefox,

FileZilla

So what other software do people use?

PS. Mods - figured this wasn't just windows OS so shouldnt go in there, as linux / mac people can use OSS too :)

firefox

miranda

console

heh. I use linux (so it's 99% OSS), but software I particularly like (some have Win ports):

GAIM

Firefox

Thunderbird

VIM

Rhythmbox

Inkscape

GIMP

irssi

SCREEN

XFCE

Abiword

Python (!)

GCC/make

There's plenty of others though. For all but some of the very pro apps (photoshop, maya, etc), there is an equivalent or better OSS app.

Oh, forgot my new love:

Subversion (its the CVS replacement)

Love it, and it even runs on Windows natively, so check it out if you need to do revision control.

(others said nmap too, gotta love that).

#164860

Firefox, Thunderbird, Adium, VLC, Camino, Romeo and that is about it.

What the hell is a [THing] tag?! Please use the standard tags, lets try to channel out creativity to other places :rolleyes:

Fantastic! I've been looking for something like this. CVS is a right pain in the posterior on my mac, this should be handy. Thanks for posting that.

Use;

• BZFlag 1.10.4 (which actually is labeled as 1.10.5-MAINTENANCE oddly)

• Bochs

• Fink (& stuff downloaded and installed)

• Firefox (But I only use it for CSS/template testing, I use Safari for browsing)

Stuff for Dev. work;

• Irrlicht

• Fink-grabbed stuff (libpng/etc)

(On old PC;

• Miranda IM

• BZFlag

• BZEdit

• Firebird (Not Firefox))
