I will see if I can somehow convert Nexplorer into this.

I need some screenshots and resources first.

Feature lists of Pixadex will also be very helpful.

@ AV

I guessed you have some agenda against .Net framework and it got confirmed :)

Why do you hate it so much? I tried some C# programming and IMHO it's a well designed language. ( Performance I'm not sure) I really hated and still hate MFC though.

There's a few good pictures of Pixadex if you search Google. And here's the full feature list from Iconfactory.

• Standard Mac icons (OS 9 & OS X as individuals or in groups)

• Standard Windows icons (95, 98, 2000, XP as individuals or in groups)

• iContainers (Pixadex & CandyBar)

• IconDropper & iControl packs

Organize icons into custom "Collections" that fit your needs

Set view attributes on individual collections such as background color & size

Arrange icons in collections a number of ways including:

• Manually (via drag & drop)

• Name & author

• Keywords & comments

• URL's

• Size

Powerful search features including:

• Icon name

• Author & copyright info

• Keywords & comments

Drag and drop any icon from Pixadex to the Finder instantly

Instantly send any icon to iChat to use as buddy avatars

Copy and paste (or drag & drop) any icon into Adobe Photoshop for editing

Apply custom icons to files & folders effortlessly with QuickDrop™

Fully integrated with CandyBar for easy setting of system level icons

Export single icons as well as entire collections as:

I don't have anything against the .NET framework, but I have something against certain people  ).

BTW, Judge posted a good address to a blog about a developer converting from Java to C# at AquaXP a while ago, which was very interesting.

Anyhoo, the .NET vs Java topic is sealed, final and does have a private constructor.

Yeah, I would be willing to use this program. Looks great!

//Edit: I don't know about Pixadex, but it would be nice if IconBook could also look through .exe's and .dll's.

#166498

selectable size for icons and png is a must!

[another O.T. for my friends Ave and Stivie]

ehmm....

- The man in the picture is Pierluigi Collina and it's an italian (but the best of the world[...]) soccer match director and he's skin is white (nothing against other skins colors ;), of course).

- I'm a coder, and I know C# from it's birth. But pay attention: a programming language IT'S NOT A FRAMEWORK. As you know, some other programming languages (like C, C++, Java...) can make applications for many platforms. C# it's a language much similar to Java and, of course, it run very similar to Java (need a framework, a platform wrapper classess, etc...); but in this way, also JavaScript it's very similar to Java too.

I've coded some application in C# that runs very well on Linux w/o M$ .Net, but i'm pretty sure that these apps can be made with java, and will run at the same manner.

- The Microsoft .Net framework it's very powerful and useful. But, as you know, the power have a price and so also the useful. With .Net frame work you can "do more with less", but I think that the real banner could be: "do many stuff with less (code time)".

The real power still remain in the C/C++ environment (at the moment), because all the most used S.O. are coded in this language. At least it's my opinion.

Therefore, my friends, still code with your preferred code language(s) and keep up the amazing work without polemics about "this is the best" and so on. ;)

I'm sorry if the things that I have said are not much clear, but who knows to me has understood what I want to say.

Marco

Great post, Marco, and I completely agree...

The only reason I argue which is best is because I like to wind Ave up and tease him ;)
