[help] Toaster Update

well, slowly but surely toaster is comming along, we are midway through the scripting engine which will be base on java for lack of a better idea.

i have been very busy with many things and am working on putting together the toaster website, whihc will have alot of usefull information, but i really dont have the time or energy to put together a proper skin, so if someone would be willing to help us out there it would be much apreaciated.

right now we need/want a pixel perfect panther, a luna (the app will also be targeted at regular computer users too) anything else people want to make, and a person who is willing to work their butts off

Hows usability coming along? Are you willing to divulge any details on the technical abilities of the app? Id offer to skin it, but im realy lazy (or too toasted for toaster) and typicaly dont finish any projects i start, unless its imperitive to my wellbeing, so if you threaten me......

i thought i had my bases covered with the bread examples... i forgot about the analogy of toasted to being drunk... grrrrr...

toaster was the 'finder clone' that was anounced just before the huge surge, although it was never intended to be one. It a filebrowser that will replace that entire part of explorer (with combination of litestep, or OB and DX explorer can be eliminated completely)

as far as skinning goes, its completely skinnable in any way shape or form, so we will be needing images for everything basically.

right now we are doing the scripting engine which is what will be used for both creating the skin, and determining the interface layout, as well as creating future plugins.

So right now we have most of the actaul skinning function done, and a decent part of the scripting, but the skinning cannot really be implemented without a skin, and corresponding script, which cant really be made or used till the scripting engine is done. BUT it would be nice if someone can make some images (PNGs), and maybe just list what they are, or those who are willing to learn or already know some basic java can put together the actual SS (skin script).

for anyone interested i can discuss more detailed expliantions and specs of the images and masks required.

on a side note, i have contacted iconfactory about possibly doing some icons for us... who knows how that will turn out, not sure how much i am willing to pay, but i am known for making bad investments with large amounts of money

am i wrong in thinking that [help] is for 'troubleshooting' and the like, not looking for more 'help' in terms of developers/skinners

and wookie, i beleive you even posted in the old toaster thread, then again that may have been before it got its official name.
