How to ask for help!!

As a software developer, one of the hardest things to do is track down issues people are having with your software. It's impossible to know what other software a user may have installed that will screw up your program. Also, with applications such as the Aqua Apps, the constant uninstalls and re-installs of newer versions can leave outdated dll's and ocx's in on the system.

When you are having a problem with one of the Aqua Applications, it is imperative that you give me as much information as possible. Screen shots are best. Here is a sample of what is helpful:

OS version and service pack level

Internet connection speed

System specs (CPU, Memory)

Screen Resolution and Color Depth

Aqua Controls/Apps version number

EXPLICIT description of the problem. The EXACT steps taken to produce the error. Whether or not the problem can be consistently reproduced or if it occurs intermittently.

I'm not trying to point fingers but here is a sample that is not very helpful:

"...it says I need to put my registration code manually in Aquamail or something like that?"

PLEASE BE SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE!!

Thanks....
