[question] Enlightenment Users

Does anyone on here use Enlightenment for their window manager. If so, there's the equivalent of one aqua theme, and it's not even up to date with the latest aqua versions. If there are enlightenment users interested I'll start porting OSX themes like Milk to Enlightenment.

Also, Enlightenment 0.17, whenever that comes out, will probably be the most Aqua like of all window managers, as it will allow an "Icon Dock" similar to OS X's, transparency effects, zoom effects, etc. That coupled with fd.o's xserver might just be all you'd need.

If there's a desire, I'll port.

So this is windows software?

Oops, sorry no, I forgot this wasn't 100% A Linux board.

Enlightenment is a window manager for Linux. It's one of the most ambitious projects out there in terms of achieving eye candy. Check out their newly released file manager:

Enlightenment is the environment that OSX copied. ;)

They had lots of really amazing eye candy back in the day. They even had hardware accelerated widgets before OSX. Their Virtual Desktop System was pretty innovative as well.

Unfortunately, that was a long time ago. Their development version, E17, is even more ambitious, and will have some amazing stuff. Unfortuntely, the coders have been very busy and decided to rewrite half of the core libraries! So basically, E17 has become vaporware.

In conclusion, E16 is what you showed off with, back in 1999. It's been outpaced in most (though not all) areas. I didn't think people actually used E16 today. ;)

But hey, more power to you if you want to port some themes. RoberTO, m5brane, and Grand_Masta (among others) have ported Aqua themes to other WMs, so you can talk to them.
