The core, yes. Nothing realy worth you downloading tho, it doesnt have any graphic enviroment, so basicaly its just a striped down, extremly picky unix kernel.

Tux... If you had read the topic a little lower down the page about "osx on x86?" then this may have been explained...

Darwin is the *nix core that Apple use at the heart of OSX. However, it's just that - A core. Yes, Darwin has been ported to x86, but it's the rest of the components that go to make OSX (For example, Aqua and finder and the desktop render engine, which i cant remember the name of, but I know uses PDF to render the desktop and elements) that are copyriight material. That, and the fact that applications that run on mac wouldn't run on an IBM-compatible PC even if it did run OSX makes Darwin of little use.

i would apply that boring logic used for some classifications:

All OS X systems are Darwin systems. But not all Darwin systems are OS X systems.

OS X uses Darwin as its core OS. but OS X has some nifty add ons to turn it into this graphic wonder it is today

Sort of answered already, but:

OSX == Darwin + GUI + Apps

Darwin is a mix of a XNU/Mach Kernel, with Userland utilities ported from various flavors of BSD (mostly OpenBSD and NetBSD).
