Aqua-Soft Forumsi think it would be a good idea to dring back the old "no holds barred'' Thread! Does anyone agree with ME?

It causes too much friction between members which would likely leak out into the other forums.
I think instead of just a thread we should have a forum called 'The Cussing Room'. The rules are 'There are no rules as to what goes except that you must cuss in each and every post'. Now you ask me what's the fun in that. Well the fun is that in order to cuss you have to bypass the swear filter to get the actual cuss word to show and I don't mean replacing letters in the cuss word. you need to use html to bypass the cuss word. for example
if I type n3wbie with an 'e' instead of a 3 it comes out like ----> ****ie
but if I try and bypass the filter -----> look ----> newbie
Once you figure out how to bypass the swear filter yourself you can feel free to flame new members to the cussing forum for not knowing how to do it themselves. Also you must remember to cuss in each and every post or you will get flamed.
Oh and btw if we do implement this, a rule must be enforced that any member who bypasses the swear filter outside the cussing forum will be PERMANENTLY BANNED from Aqua-Soft. That's the only way we can keep this kind of thing under control

Well said Sid. I am interested as to how the hell you beat the filter? Did you have to use any of your 1337 coding skills? 
Even if you can... you dont... trust me, either me or other mods will be here to warn your smartpantness back to pg 13.
Pe7er why did you edit my post? The cuss word was necessary to demonstrate what I was trying to explain. How else do I explain what I mean?
I like the idea of a No Holds Barred forum. Maybe there is a way (I know there is in vB) that it checks the birsthdate and if they are over a certain age then they can see the forum.
It would serve no purpose - apart from little boys who are impressed with big words - kind of sad really. Take it somewhere else.

I'm sorry but cuss words, regardless of their purpose, are forbidden here.
IMO this kind of a forum is as terribly bad idea. It will cause nothing but odium.
But you guys ruined it the 5 min we had it here.
But we are open for suggestions on other new (WORTH WILD!) forums.

This community is intended to be safe for anyone who visits it... That includes people under 13 etc... A forum for cussing wouldnt exactly be classed as safe for them now, would it? Hey, if you want to swear a lot and nothing else, why dont you set up your own forums for it... i'm sure there are a few people here like yourself who would go to let off steam... /shrug

Here's my suggestions, for what they're worth.
The "No Holds Barred" forum should stay a memory. Why? Because it was devisive, plain and simple. Rather than focusing on the one thing that we have in common (Aqua Emulation), it only magnified the things that drove us apart. The "No Holds Barred" forum was a temporary stent to help drain A-S of the pent up anger, frustration, and tensions within the community. The forums almost imploded last June, and the "No Holds Barred" forum was simply a place for people to vent. It served it's purpose, and should stay a part of the past.
As for the other forums, I wouldn't really recommend making more- we have an overabundance anyways. I would instead suggest that forums be kept cleaner, particularly the iLife forum. I don't mean tags are unorganized (nice work Seph), but the iLife forum has seem to have become the "I don't know where the he|| else to post this" forum.
The other forums just seem bloated right now. I have to scroll more and more now to find what I need. My suggestions for this is to make the categories themselves forums, with the current forums as subforums. Go to therealduckie.net to see this in action. It adds an extra step to navigation, but keeps things tidier, IMO.
I have been critical of this staff in the past; however, please do not read this as criticism. These are just suggestions from a former mod on how to tidy up a bit.

So whats the big area in the middle of Aqua Soft with 11 seperate sub forums? The Peruvian Goat Cheese Stock price listing discussion forums? I don't think so....

why do we need a no holds barred room? if u need to say something to someone, but your afread it will be censored or deleted, just pm them.
if theres a nother reason for this please explain.

A dev forum would be a great idea - how about combining it with the no-holds barred forum and have Dev-Xtreme - coding with bad language.... boom boom
Ok, my views on this Venting Room:
Pros:
.:: Offtopic Needs of the community are served
.:: People would have NO excuse to go offtopic outside that Vent room
.:: Can build community bonds (goofing around makes friends too)
.:: Helps Keep offtopic posts in one place only, allowing this way to avoid all offtopic from the get active and get new scripts as well as restrict the discussion to members of the proper age.
Cons:
.:: Very easily generates friction among members, specially that "cuss forum"
.:: May seem quality degrading and thus drive members away, among them Developers and artists.
.:: May drive the traffic of Aqua Soft to "madness only" and thus drive away post traffic from the true reason of aqua soft.
Look at them carefully, the fact that there are 3 cons does not mean that there is a heavier weighing side for the advantages.
