[ann] Longhorn Themes

yes they are by windows X. thats why the theme's name says "windows x" lets give credit where its due. these are beautiful themes, but not longhorn. plus, (ripped from neowin, thanks wixifer)

i just want to say i have pulled the real LH theme files from 4051 , 4053, and 4074, and they do not... repeat DO NOT work in windows XP. i am not a professor or a professional w/e person. but i have done this through Virtual PC and copied well transfered the files to my own HD and thinking it would work and no it does not... so for those people who have been staying they are fake. yes they are. a reason why the real lh theme files wont work cuz xp and longhorn are different versions. thank you for ur time reading this and thx for fake themes. oh and one more thing that will back me up is i am using the patched uxtheme.dll.

longhorn and xp has significantly different architecture, making backwards compatibility impossible.

The Luna style, however is by Microsoft (but it's dated to 2000).

The others have Windows X as the author (except the Plex Style Media Center Edition which says "Windows X, original source by Corporal_Clegg)

Oh well. I dont think lou did this intentionally, he obviously pulled the folder and thought they were from longhorne. Good effort anyway.

There is no Aero theme in Lonhorn 4074, these are the only themes available...

Excuse me. This could be a little misunderstanding abour that Longhorn visual style. Let me explain about it for a little.

1. Theme name (Exactly as name I gave to my works)

2. Longhorn Aero theme does not exist in real Longhorn

3. All Longhorn visual style doesn't have sub-style and no Media Center Edition for Plex (Which is Corporal Clegg's work and I modded it)

4. There's only one Slate. No XP and PDC available at all.

5. Longhorn theme use different engine from XP so you can't use any Longhorn theme in XP except someone ported it.

Lou, I know they gave you crap over at Neowin without bothering to try understanding the situation, but these really aren't the true Longhorn themes. I think you've been duped by someone at your school... but I do appreciate your effort, and your community spirit to bring these to us instead of keeping them for yourself, when you thought they were authentic.

Sorry. I just talked to him. Dr. K had Jim remove Longhorn from his computer, to use on another, and so since then, Jimmy has emulated Longhorn, using these themes. Honest to God. My appologies to go Neowin, Aqua-Soft, and personally Windows X.
