[help] Ampi Doesn't Seem To Be Working

I have been having this problem since Samurize version 1.40. I originally thought it was a problem with the new version not working with Tadis' wonderful Milk Suite, but it is not. It seems to be particular to my system.

Every config I have (Milk Suite, CRNI GuiPod, iTunes Art Popper) which needs AMPI gets nothing. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Samurize 1.4, 1.41 and 1.5 with no success (includes deleting original install directory). This problem has existed with iTunes 4.2-4.5 :dizzy:

I have attempted to go into config editor to figure this out myself. The only thing I have learned is that when I click on the About button for AMPI, all info is listed as "Unknown". When I click on Settings, I get an error message "No options available for this plugin". Clicking "Change Parameters" does nothing. Clicking "Test Function" also seems to do nothing...except blank out the Result: box.

Please help me with this if you can! I would really appreciate it! :cheers:

make sure you install the music app before samurize... when you install samurize, it puts a plugin into the music players plugin folder.

Did you allow the plugin to run in the background? Check your players options..

Yes, iTunes was installed long before I ever got Samurize, though even at that I did check that the plugin was actually in the iTunes plugin folder. At this moment "Samurize Plugin 1.5" is listed in my list of iTunes plugins in the menu.

i don't use iTunes so hopefully someone who is more familiar with that particular player may help you out....you might want to check samurize.com to see if anyone has had the same problem, or post the question there. Sorry....

everythig used to work fine for me until I installed the milk suite v3 after that none of the media stuff worked. I had crni's cd cover config and that worked fine but after the milk suite installed it just stopped recognizing itunes completely.

Well the samurize AMPI was updated by Tropics, pehaps the "suite" version wasn't set up to work with the new and improved AMPI....Did Tadis have any ideas?

Hi guys,

Through overworking and sleep deprivation I've managed to include the wrong dll in the Milk Suite zip - I thought I'd included the Sam 1.50 dll when in fact it was a dll from an earlier version (I think the dll is from Sam 1.30, which was the last one that worked for me).

Anyway, try replacing the AMPI dll in the plugins subfolder of your Sam installation with the following file:

AdvancedMediaPlayerInfo.zip

This should only affect those that have installed the Milk Suite v0.3 over Sam 1.50, if you installed Milk Suite before upgrading to Sam 1.50 then you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah thanks a lot!!! That's all I needed too which ends about two weeks of frustration in trying to figure out why it wouldn't work......UGH!!!
