i've recently stumbled across some new info, that would allow for more accurate Lucida fonts..
take a look at the image below
as you can see..
the "new font" style, is much closer to the way OS X displays fonts, than any Clear-Type font appears..
this "new font" looks best without clear-type, and gives a more OS X accurate shadow and anti-aliasing.
i'm just posting this image for now..
if there's enough interest, i may actually post the font.. or a theme revision including this font..
I'm gamed to have a go at it. Any way I can get it off you?

just a TAD too bold, it looks very accurate anyway so far. I would suggest you show us a ss with the fonts applied, compared to a mac ss. Use any of the mac snaps on the ss thread...

I am very interested in this. I suffer from ugly fonts very much, it would be nice to have something closer to the ideal

Looks good! Mebbe a little less bold..but what are you going to do.
Taking a look that this in photo shop (zoomed out so I can see what it actually looks like) it looks damn good. Please release!

That looks absolutely stunning Ja450n. I'd definitely be interested in getting my hands on that font.

it's entirely un-related to that bug..
because this uses a TTF format font.

Uhm. Any progress? I sent you a PM and no response came. I would really want this font on its own, not embedded in a theme.

i'm still working on this font..
i learned the hardway that releasing unfinished stuff on the internet is not a good idea.. so it'll probobly be untill i finish this, that it's released.
also. i'm trying to incorporate this font into a theme, so i can do a comparison screenshot.. (to show how the font looks at different sizes, and how it compares to the way it looks in OS X)
the theme part is easy. it's just a matter of putting in some strings here and there..
the font i have to shave down a bit.. so the the anti-aliasing doesn't make it look so big..

The font will be released when its finished. Period. meanwhile, any 'can't wait"'s and "wft have you not released the font" are redundant and unwanted.
I am closing this thread for the mean time. Ja450n can PM me or any other mod when this is done and i will re open it for him.
