Just Post the Link to the site where the turorial/file can be found, and of course what it is.

Thought of some more:

Popopen and Zoomopen for Mac style opening effects. Google it.

Glass2k - download.com - i dont know if this counts, its a great, low resource program that gives you hotkey access to window transparancy and always on top.

Freeshade - http://www.hmmn.org/FreeShade/ - window shading. Personally, its the best out there. Easy, free, and uses only 200K of RAM!

Getting 128x128 icons, converting mac icons tutorial, and great 128 icons - xicons.com

KEEP POSTING.

I've got the free version of Stuffit Expander 8.0 on Win XP SP1, and it definitely does open archives with both .sit and .hqx extensions, i.e. archivename.sit.hqx, including those from MixthePix. Under the "Edit --> Options --> Expansion" menu of the program, in the area called "Further Expansion", I have a box checked next to "Continue to expand when expansion result is a single archive."

When I have a .sit.hqx file I right click on it and choose "Open With --> Stuffit Expander for Windows 8.0". A window pops up (since I have Tutorial Mode dialogs enabled still) saying "Please select a destination for Expanded files." and I click the button that says "Same as Original". Once I click that, an error message pops up, stating, "Is archive encrypted error: C:\Documents and Settings\...\nameofarchive.sit.hqx Engine Error: Format Attribute Not Available". I ignore it and hit "OK" and it goes ahead and shows a progress bar while it extracts all the contents to a folder with the same name as the archive, just like WinZip would if it were a .zip file. After that I open up IconShop 1.20 Alpha and drag-'n'-drop .RSRC files from the folder into the open space at bottom right, then Ctrl-click select all the ones I want and right click on any one of them, choosing "Export As..." to save them all as .ico, .cur, or .tiff (icon or cursor or image) files - a series of "Save..." dialogue boxes will pop up, one per each selected image. The resulting icons usually have the file description "128x128 Icon", but they contain all other sizes that were included in the original Mac icon. After I've done a batch of those and I want to use them in Y'z Dock (.ico files don't seem to work as nicely in the dock) as PNG files, I just right click on any of the .ico files and choose "View icons with GConvert" (this is the context menu entry for GConvert 3.8). I scroll the "Images Viewer" window down to the 128x128 version of the icon in question and right click, choosing "Save Icon... --> PNG Format".

That's the simplest (and least expensive - i.e. completely free) way I know of to extract and convert Mac icons from .sit.hqx files - the second part of the procedure applies, of course, to any Mac icon archives in .RSRC format.

Download GConvert 3.8 here.

Download IconShop 1.20 Alpha here.

Download Stuffit Expander 8.0 for Windows here. (They say it's a free "15-day trial" - but I've had it much longer than 15 days, unstuffed dozens of archives, and never had to register it.)

Perhaps this will help, neh? :hey_suga:

Hey - you guys should try to keep this discussion to one of the other forums (icons?) - I like contrasutra's idea of putting as many of the useful links as possible on one sticky (hint, hint moderators!)....

SO here are some AMAZING Icons!

http://www.resexcellence.com/archive_icons...01/system.shtml

Another Excellent site was agrapha icons - photorealistic! - but they're offline at the moment :(

oh...but you'll need to use Stuffit and Iconworkshop (axialis.com) to convert them :D

if you want to display your system's stats in a cool way, use this program. it doesnt use that much to run.

ALSO it doubles as a media player, weather checker with all NOAA stations, clock that you can synchronize to all the atomic clocks and many institutions, and the skin i use has a thumping picture of a subwoofer whneever music is playing. its tight.

Here's the program

here's the skin. ...if you dont like it theres a few other dialleds. just search for "dialled".
