[Help] Creating A Pppoe Connection Shortcut

Hi to all - the title of this topic says it all, really!

I use a PPPOE connection as my default, and I wonder if anyone here can help me create a Dock shortcut to this type of connection.

I've tried linking to a shortcut of the connection, but it just opens the .lnk file, I've treid directly dragging and dropping the connection onto the Dock, but when I open this item it just gives an error ("Windows cannot find {BA126A etc...}. Make sure you typed the name correctly etc")

Any help much appreciated!

If your pppoe connections has to be "dialed" then create a shortcut to rasdial.exe (I think it's in the windows folder somewhere)

C:\>rasdial /?

USAGE:

        rasdial entryname [username [password|*]] [/DOMAIN:domain]

                [/PHONE:phonenumber] [/CALLBACK:callbacknumber]

                [/PHONEBOOK:phonebookfile] [/PREFIXSUFFIX]

        rasdial [entryname] /DISCONNECT

Sorry _ i'll try to remember to use the tags next time!

I saw the other thread, but it's not really related to my question (thanks for pointing it out tho!). I know how to use rasdial, and have done so in the past to launch my dialup connection from the Dock. Sorry I can't help with your quation on that thread, Seph!

However, I can't seem to get rasdial to dial my PPPOE connection. I have the shortcut set thus:

Link: C:\WINDOWS\system32\rasdial.exe

Arguments: connectionname username password

Note, there are no quote marks - I've never needed them for dialup usage for rasdial shortcuts. Also, the connection is named "Woosh (PPPOE)" - do I need to include the PPPOE bit??

Kind of stuck - so if any of you guys can get rasdial to dial a PPPOE from the DOck that'd be cool! Having said that, It's no big deal, as I can obviously dial the connection by using the good old fashioned windows start menu, or by launching my browser!
