[help] ****ie In Need Of Help!

My friend brought his Mac over to my place the other day (a laptop) as I was experiencing some PC difficulties and he wanted to test my wireless network with his machine. I saw his OS X and it was beautiful! I asked if he knew how I could make my Win XP look more like his OS X and he directed me here. Now, I've done a bit of research and have learned that I need to use either Windows Blinds or Style XP and get a skin in order to change the appearance. I've seen people say that TD 4.01 is the best out there, so I downloaded it (Style XP version).

What is the best dock program out there? Where do I get all the icons I'm missing? What programs should I use to help get the "OS X" feel?

Any help is appreciated!

Even though there have been thousands of thread asking exactly this...

The best dock is Y'z Dock. Don't ask where to get it, because we can't tell you ;)

Get Object Bar with crni's OB themes for the Menu bar on the taskbar.

Also, don't use StyleXP for visual styles. Search in the Customizing Windows GUI forum for how use them without StyleXP.

That's about it, look throught other help threads like this for more info ;)

I personal opinion is to forget about using an msstyle and use Windowblinds.

In order to get that full OS X experience...you need WB inorder to get the glyphs on the left side of the windows and various other window animations to correctly emulate OS X.

Thx a bunch guys! I'll try to find some time to look through everything you've linked me to some time before the end of my finals. Expect me to be back to ask more ****ie questions. :D

Word of advice,

Take the time to browse through and read the forums thoroughly (esp. the stickies). Most of us here have been theme-ing, skinning and modding for a while, so one can easily forget what it felt like not knowing your way around.

There's never any harm in asking, but you're going to want to save yourself the sarcasm of the ****ie-bashers, so search before you ask. :)

As far as I know, all already released versions of Y'z Dock are in no way forbidden or suspect or whatever, so everything linking to v0.63 or what, didn't use docks for a long time and forgot the actual version-number, should be ok. So we actually *can* tell, don't we?
