I'm not sure how this may have happened, and I have no clue how to fix it. For some reason when I open my Floppy Drive, Hard Drive or my CD-RW Drive they all come up as command prompts (C:/WINDOWS/System32/cmd.exe)
This happens if I either try to open them from the start menu or my dock.
What is the problem?????
Perhaps a virus has taken over? First thing I do once I notice odd behaviour is to run a virus scan.
Ya I had a virus it was called Trj/Briss.A and it was taken care of completly
restart you PC in safe mode and then run Anti-v and see what you install before you have the problem.
back-up you work in different drive and then run System Restore my be it willl help

well I can't backup anything because I only have one drive, and I erased all my previous restore points to get rid of the virus that I had last night. I"ve done the virus scan, and nothing was found
EDIT: I fixed the problem here's what happened.
last night i was in the file types dialog box, just lookin around, and i guess i accidently deleted one of the menu options
i somehow deleted the Open option, which threw the entire right click menu for the drives off
so i just went back in there and re added the open option and made it open with explorer.exe and it's fixed.
