'links' Text Removal...

How do you remove the txt reference to 'Links' in the explorer toolbar?

You can remove the text 'Adresses' in Browselc.dll, I would have thought the reference was in there... Any ideas or thoughts?

LOL, it is so easy. just right click at any space around the toolbar and untick Links. :P

But, digitheatre, that doesnt get rid of the word "Links." It just gets rid of the entire thing... I think if I'm correct, Nobski was asking how to REMOVE the word "Links" via editing .dlls.... Right?

If someone out there knows, I'd like to be in the know too.

there was a registry hack that did that. I can't remember it. Perhaps I have rung some bells for others? Anyone remember?

oh..sorry. I though you want to get rid of the whole thing. LOL

But try this. open your browselc.dll using reshacker.

Go to String Table - 775 - 1033

Replace "Links" with ""

Try that and pls make backup first. I just assuming.

I'm not sure if what digitheatre works but the way I know to get rid of it is like this.

Open RegEdit

Got to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

And modify "LinksFolderName"

You can remame it whatever you want.

you can use ALT-0160 to make a non-breaking space which will get rid of the text but leave a small space.

You could also leave it blank which will make the Links toolbar display all your favorites.

If you rename it, IE will make a new subfolder in your favorites directory, you just have to move the contents of your Links directory to that directory.
