Hi All,
Would it be possible to review the size of signatures that are acceptable on the forum? lately, I've been noticing some pretty big (and frankly irrelevant) sigs. I know you can turn them off, but I'd like to continue being able to identify members by their avatar & sig.
I'm not sure what everyone's take is on this topic but I thought an open debate might help in clarifying (or redefining) the guidelines?
That's coming in the new rules.
We're going to actively enforce 400px wide/100px high as a maximum.
Anything over that (even if it's spread across multiple images) will be removed.
Yeah, some are getting too big. What do you think is a good size? Mine is 600x100 I think.

tad too big, causes a rendering issue with the forum for 800x600 users 
Is 400 the widest you can go? I just looked at the canvus, it's to skinny. That will wipe out everyones pictures.

I actually think that the combined height of the image and text in Sephs sig is pretty much the ideal size for the board. Wizards is great, but a bit too tall.
ok his signature graphic* is still to wide. (edited because of the sick minds :moon: )

But smaller sigs are good.
I think Timan's suggestion of 500 is reasonable.
(guess my one'll be too huge then)
I'm going to start making wild assumptions here, and say that my sig is probably way too big and I'm going to get a *****y email from Seph about it :naughty:

500px sounds good to me, I'm pretty sure most of mine have been about that wide in the past.

Im a regular visitor to another premium board (
yes another board!) and they are a bit more lenient on signature rules and more than half the page gets filled up with signatures and I always make sure signatures are off but to be honest they dont bother me on this board I think people just need to limit thier signature as much as possible.

I think 500px wide is fine, its mainly the height that concerns me (what with all the scrolling you have to do on the ss thread! )
Also as Ludge pointed out many people aren't just using pics in their sigs but text (some more than others! why on earth someone would want to include the nitty-gritty of their setup in each and every post is beyond me!), maybe we need a rule that reflects this i.e 100px height or equivalent when combined with text? :dunno:
All sigs should be 152x40 bearing contents as illustrated below:
I think a perfect size for sigs would be 500x150 at most.
And don't complain about my sigs image, I am going to change the size of it sometime.
