So, pretty straight forward poll.

I just loved BZ... but i tested the beta NeXplorer and looks like it should be my next one.

#155812

though i chose looca, i still like aquafinder (one of the not-up-for-download-pm-me-if-you-want-them aqua-apps)

Nexplorer has alot of great features, but the farther it progresses the slower it seems to get. :(

I love how fast looca is, but the latest version has alot of bugs regarding the column browsing, and it's hard to configure without any kind of sidepane option interface. Plus the dev says he's stopping development for awhile :(

We just need a good fast finder with column view, cause I'm falling in love with the way it works :) Time to get a mac I guess, any donations? :P

looca the best ! :D

#155851

nexplorer all the way

I inserted a NO tag there. It doesnt fall in any of the categories, and the fact that it is a poll gives it a "poll" text before the title... theres no need for a tag here.

#155868

No Finder Clones for me ;)

#155903

though i think they're all great and all that sweetness, i'd have to go with looca, it just amazes me the kind of progress the author has done since the first release. like for real yo' represent! over and out.

I'm sticking with exploder for now.

Until a Finder clone can at least do EVERYTHING explorer can, I'll wait.

#156073

explorer. i don't see the need to use finder for my system. :)

i like to use the console anyway.

#156074

I gave a look to almost every clone here and I wait for Nexplorer for the moment ( not a beta ). As the poll concerns the default one, I'm sorry to still use explorer.exe which is the faster way to browse ... for the moment.

Let's take the time to have a finder clone impose itself in my mind like Objecdock did in my dock's experience....

I second that. Nexplorer is easy to configure but it's flickering all the time and looca 1.99 is damn slow on my system. So I have to wait

Looca has to be the best right now...for me no speed issues and it's very easy to configure....lovely Jet black skin by Pe7er...piervshy classy! (Sorry for my bad Polish!). I'm using v1.5.

I quite often use Explorer but the best Finder-clone I think is Felix 8, its also skinnable! (Y)

#161169

neither, and I use bbLean instead of explorer.

I would probably use Felix if anything.

#161309

no explorer mod for me. :)

just as a sidenote: i find it funny that you guys fuss so much about having a finder and the need for the developement of one and so on, yet most of you don't use one :P

Well, out of 81 responses, roughly 60% of those anwesering *do* use a finder clone.

So what do you mean, Menge?

Furthermore, those who don't use a finder clone and posted in the thread all indicated that they had tried finder clones, but are just not satisfied with their performance vis-a-vis Explorer, so they have not switched *yet*.

But still, 60% of users switching from Windows' default file browser is quite impressive to me.

Well...there it is...these'clones' look good, and some of them are quite practical in their use...but. It would be neat if...say...Looca would start up again haviing clicked on a new folder...I guess this won't be happening. These finder clones look great...and have functionality. But don't forget we are on the windows platform...it gets pretty confusing! Loving Loooca though but!

Any better would have to be Mac's finder...do you really want to go down the route of death?

One of the best file browsers around is PhotoShop's 'File Browser'..now that would be real neat to have as a stand alone app!

#161372

looca for me, with an tear in my eyes about the develop-pause. still waits and hopes for felix9. ;)

#161583

NeXplorer for me. Simply for the fact that I can now spot my important folders in amongst the 30 odd random ones in my documents. Oh, and for some reason it's actually faster on my PC than explorer itself. *shrugs*
