[beta] @z_screen (just Say Easy ...)

Hello world of Aqua,

I just have finished my first and new App called @Z_Screen.

This App is a kind of remote control for all the opened windows (minimize, maximize, reduce, focus and close). And it is fully skinnable ...

If you want to try it ... Go to the web site and dowload the beta version.

Please, just indicate in this thread all the bugs and suggestions for this App.

kick-ass application! Very original!

One thing, tho: it's kinda irritating that, when the application takes a screenshot of the window, the original window will be taken to front. I am sometimes waiting 2 minutes while my windows are popping on and away. Take a look at WM_PRINT and WM_PRINTWINDOW.

Another one is that the application is messing up DirectUI-windows, like MSN Messenger windows.

Amazing app! And it uses so little memory! Some suggestions for another version:

1) Allow for an "always on" option. I think people would like that..

2) Allow for another way of reaching the Settings

3) Remove the icon (the one that says AZ Teck). Most people don't like stuff like this on their desktops. You could have it, or something like it, appear in the system tray.

These are just suggestions (I'm not being ungrateful !). I love it!

About skin : This App NEED to be skinned ...

About taking screenshot : i already use PrintWindow with WM_PRINTWINDOW. But, on low ressource or low processor machine, sometimes it take a little time.

Don't know why but it mkes PhotoShop glicth.

Maybe it's cause I'm running PhotoShop, @z_screen, iTunes, WindowsFX, WindowBlinds, Objectbar, MobyDock, and MSN Messenger.

Maybe, my system can't handle so much programs at the same time. :cry:

I need more RAM!!!!!!!!!! 1 gb doesn't cut it anymore! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMMING TO! I"M NOT RICH!!!!! I can't afford another gb, unless I save up for a LONG TIME! :rant:

Oh and if you want I could host version 1 for you. ( I don't host beta's people sy it's my fault if something goes wrong)

I am having a little trouble with the skins. They came out great but since th bg.png is semi transparent the images look bad. So the skins look like crap. Is there a way to take away transpareny?

You have some parameters to define the cutting of the image in the .easyscreen :

BackgroundImageCutLeft = 0

BackgroundImageCutTop = 0

BackgroundImageCutRight = 0

BackgroundImageCutBottom = 0

try to use this.

Else, you have a parameter for the alphablending of each background.

1 : May be on the definitive version. But it is yet possible by the skinning.

2 : When you clic the screenshot, normally the window take focus. Is it what you want ?

Great App! Really. I agree with the above suggestions and would add a couple of my own:

- Rollovers for what all the buttons mean. Or at least a Readme that explains them.

- A much quicker fadeout for when the mouse is not on the bar or the option to set the time ourselves.

This is going to be an excellent prog.

Suggestions:

Maybe systray for future release

"Tabbed" taskbar.... meaning... applications can be set to run under certain tabs in @z_screen.

say, you want photoshop to run under a tab called "gfx", you can access the control panel of @z tab and set photoshop.exe to run under the "gfx" tab. maybe if possible, you can add tabs as much as you want.

How about a start panel?
