[help] Milk 0.3 Album Art Config

I have looked in the different threads but I wanna know something.

In the Marvellous Tadis Milk 0.3 config the album art is pointing to the amazon.co.uk site and I want to know if it's possible to have a multi site configuration.

The reason is because I have a lot of Jpop stuff that cannot be listed on the amazon.co.uk site listed.

i.e. : search amazon ... art not found then check on cdjapan ...

does the secret reside in the albumart.ini ?

Thanks in advance

Well you could change the link inside the album art.ini file or you could probably duplicate and rename the config like albumartjp.ini inside this config you change the amazon link to the site you want for jp covers and when a cover could nor be found, you switch config manually (by rightlick try icon and select the other config) to get a cover and then maybe manually switch back to the "amazon version".

"search amazon ... art not found then check on cdjapan ..." would probably need a script to do that.

My album art widget uses Tropics' amazing AMPI plugin (that is installed with Samurize) to find the art. It is this fabulous plugin that is hardwired to look for a corresponding cover on amazon (probably chosen for its overall diversity), the link to the amazon database is just something I added on top.

If I understand you right, you just want to change the link that I added?

If so open up the corresponding albumart.ini in config editor and change the link to whatever you wish it to be. Alternatively you could just resize it and duplicate it adding the new link to the duplicated meter (that way you'll retain the link to the amazon site, but you'll also have a new link to your preferred site).

I hope that makes sense to you?

Yeah I've been having the same difficulties with mine as the others above. Read the directions on Tadis site and still no beans........Even tried a full uninstall of Samurize itself and reinstall but that didn't work either. Can someone help???

i dont understand it... the plugin works fine because the others work just good... like getTrackTime etc.. but album cover doesn't work.. so i dont know whats wrong with it. i could be wrong.

You may also need to edit your AdvancedMediaPlayerInfo.opt in the plugin folder if you already didn't.....open with notepad. :D

This part has come up on Samurize.com before, check this also..

# how to check online status

# 0: don't check / always online

# 1: check ras connection (for modem + dsl)

check_online =0 <---- make sure it is "0"

Keep trying, you will eventually get this..

WMP 9 in action! :naughty:

Sorry for ignoring your email that you sent a few days ago (been really busy).

Anyway, to narrow down the album art issue, try the following:

1) Make sure that the mp3 you're playing has been tagged properly, i.e. all the data is filled in and secondly, make sure that the mp3 is a common one (or at least something likely to come up on the amazon website... basically something pop orientated). Play the mp3 making sure that your internet connection is active and see if the plugin picks it up.

2) Place a jpg of the album art in the folder of an mp3 and then play the mp3 and see if that jpg is displayed in the album art meter, if it is then the problem is likely to be with your internet connection and I'd recommend checking your opt file as KMDonlon has suggested.

3) Lastly, try replacing your existing AMPI dll with this one: AMPI

(a long story short, I need more sleep)
