Aqua-Soft ForumsIs their any way in iTunes jsut go emualte surrond sound. I have 5.1 speakres and I would like to just mirro fornt channels to get a fuller effect in my room. I know this can be done bc i Do it with foobar2000. Thanks in advance

What kind of soundcard do you have? You can't do it through iTunes (there isn't a plug in for it that I know of), but you may be able to do it in hardware. I can with my soundcard.
yeah , man if its possible , even id like to know that , you know after years of listening thru dsp plugins on wmp , the lone itunes sounds kinda empty in sound ( i hope you understand what i mean) , you know man like , you dont really feel the depth in da music anymore , anyways all i can hope is that apple or maybe one of our talented dudes out here can find a way for us to use dsp plugins in iTunes .
yeah I reckon with you Rahul it would be great if iTunes could work with DFX plugins. 
the center speaker won`t work unless u have a 5.1 source.
and there`s no point in making a 2.1 or 4.1 a 5.1. it`s just not worth it 
PS if u have a 5.1 SC then the front and back speakers work, just the center one doesn`t 
Audigy 2.0 and above have what is called CMSS 1.0 and 2.0, two different methods to emulate 5.1 when playing stereo music.

The SB Live 5.1 claims to have CMSS, but I have never tried it as I don't have enough speakers.
Winamp have a amazing plugin called DEE3 that work like a virtual crossover, that takes some frequencys ranges and divide then between the 5.1 speakers... with all the configsw you can make 5.1 sounds amazing with music.
I just hope Itunes will have something like this soon.
Can you not do it with your speakers?
I have an Audigy connected to Creative DTT2500s and i just select fourpoint or music on the speaker connector box thing and hey presto, surround sound music 
Sounds much better in winamp, as if I set it to fourpoint and digital in, the vocals play thru the center channel, with the music in surround sound. No idea why or how this works, but it does, and sounds incredible
oh itunes doesn't work with surround? i wondered why it suddenly stopped working and then i remmebered i turned off 5.1 emulation. i fixed it and it sounds great (get a C-Media 8738 PCI card but don't install the driver from windows update)
I´ve sended a mail to DEE3 creator... and he did that besides he hadn´t any intention of lauching DEE3 for iTunes, maybe he, finding somespare time, he would look into this in the future.
i have a audigy gamer ... and a sony de448 hooked up on 5.1 input.. now i realize that the center doesnt put out anything... its all in the left and right channel... unless i use power dvd with teh prologic II....
