I was wondering what MoBo and CPU combo would you suggest for an AMD based computer.
If anyone is wondering, I recently just purchased a Chaintech and a 64 3200 and it was a great match. No problems what-so-ever and It ran Prime95 for the complete 24.
i'm going to wait a while for 64bit, but for xp chips, i like:
abit nf7-s + mobile 2400+/2500+ barton chips.
the abit is stable, fast, a good overclocker, and feature-loaded. the mobile chips are a good choice because:
1. they have a lower default voltage, so they run cooler
2. unlocked
3. 1 + 2 = good overclocker
4. it's the cream of the crop.
i still have an old 2000+ tbred, but if i were ever to upgrade my chip, i'd go for a nice mobile chip.
Mine is an MSI K7N2 Delta (nForce2 based) motherboard running an AMD Athlon XP 2500+. Great combo..
well ever think of buying a shuttle cube there affordable.
200$ gets u a SN45G
i took that running a athlon 2500+ unlocked running 2.2ghz
plus its a small cube, towers are overrated. pwhaha the only reason why i would have a tower is if im raiding and doing a file server.
Persionaly at this time i would spring for an abit nf7 and an XP2500 mobile, and overclock it.
