i tried reshacking the batmeter.dll but it said it couldnt save cause it was in use? how do i save it then?

Try reshacking a copy of it first. Then replace it.
i made a copy of the dll on the desktop and renamed it to batmeter.dll and i replaced the bitmap for it, and saved it, now i need to get that into the system32 folder to replace the batmeter.dll thats already in there. but its still not working, could someone tell me step by step how to do this cause no matter what i do, it wont work.
I'm not an expertise, but I think you should replace the file in the dll cache folder first, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
1. copy the dll and paste it on your desktop.
2. reshack the dll and save it.
3. open it up to make sure it's correct.
4. use replacer (get it here: http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/) to replace the file. drag the original, drag in the replacement, and let it process.
5. reboot.
which dll to hack when you want to change the usb device plugged/unplugged in sys tray icon? I use a usb mouse...

If you mean the "Safely remove hardware" icon, it's in stobject.dll.
Next time, please add something more than [help] to the main line of the title subject, otherwise, in the thread view, the title of the thread is just [Help] and thus, pretty uninformative
