Now days every single post on AS has to be tagged. How about adding a drop down option before the Topic Title which gives a list of all the available Thread tags, and the post is unable to be posted until a topic has been chosen?
I'm not saying it will solve the issue - but it would be a good way of future categorisation/search and also make sure most new threads are tagged properly.

hey man, it's your dime and you're the admin, get rid of them then... we're just suggesting since right now it's mandatory, and the moderators are tagging more than moderating. this will eliminate that job of to constantly having to reedit topic titles.

the only tags i like are the release tags, link tags and request tags adn things like that, to me, are nothing more than worthless clutter.

sounds like a good idea to me ( drop down options but lets keep them to the ones already in use and not create others [iDEA] <-- classic example ! ) not sure if you could do it on Invision without some major hacking of the php tho ?????

I'm for the idea. I, too, have thought about this but came to the conclusion it's really not hard to type and extra 10 or so letters.
Ya I agree, out with the tags. They definately make things looks a lot sloppier. But then again they are helpful for like releases and such. So i agree with only having to use them in certain forums.
I also vote for getting rid of them damn tags... :6

I think tags make things look a lot more organized, it is again, just a matter of taste, if timmie doesnt like them, remove them, but for the time being they are still on the "how to post guidelines" and i will continue to enforce them as a matter of standardization, i think its a good way for people to actually think about what they type as a topic title, otherwise, we would have "hehehehehehelp!!! pleeease, preettyyy pleeeeeasee" as teh tittle to every help thread.
Also, after being a newsposter, you lear to appreciate that people tag request/threads/previews/wips differently, it makes a 45 min newspost a lot easier.
I too liked the tags instead of the smilies option, if its available in other skins, its a shame, i really like to use the default A-S one...
The tags do good in some area of the forums, but not in places like GD, and stuff.
