Apple have released v2.2 of the iPod software for all iPods and minis

The iPod Update supports all models of iPod and iPod mini. This update is required to take advantage of new features in iTunes 4.5 and the iTMS.

Changes for iPod without a Dock connector

- Compatibility with iTunes 4.5 and the iTMS

- Improved playback performance

Blame the board then I came in here this morning and read the news and seen an update for iTunes WHICH WAS ON THE TOP. I noticed there was also an update for the iPod so I posted the announcement and your news post was NOT on the front page! It appeared about an hour afterwards. <_<
