[help] Firefox

I looked at my ram usage and i found out firefox is using around 98mb of ram

Is this normal?

sometimes it uses a lot like that, but its generally not perminant. mine has peaked at above 120 or 130. its not a big deal, you payed for the ram, may as well use it all

what version? i used an optimized nightly that had a memory leak.

i'm running 0.8 milestone right now with ~20 tabs open and it's running at 51mb.

offtopic for a sec---this is why you know so much, you're reading 20 webpages at once. :smartass:

 thanks for the praise, but it's totally untrue. i don't know that much at all!

most of the open tabs are different forums and news sites. :D

lol, seph. i'm a gentle being! :naughty:

tarik, here's my about box. you can see the build date in there.

but anyway, i have a feeling you're using the milestone. you'd know if you were using a nightly.

ram usage depends on the number of tabs, plugins, extensions, etc. i wouldn't worry about it too much unless you find that it keeps increasing without bound, in which case i'd label it a memory leak.

90 mb is nothing. Especially when you're browsing images the memusage goes up. I've experienced 600mb usage :)
