[help] .mpg File

i got a .mpg file which is a music vedio, but there's only right channel got sounds, left channel is silent.

is there a software can help me edit the .mpg file and make both channel audible?

maybe what you can do is the following:

rip the existing audio track off the mpeg(you can do that with virtualdub which is freeware, http://www.virtualdub.org), open up the video file, then click 'file'-'save wav'. take that wav file, then duplicate it under a different name. so now you're going to have wav1 and wav2.(note, these are going to be large files, hope you have lots o' hd space!)

go then to this link

download audacity, it's freeware.

install and open audacity, click on -... import the 2 wav's you created... on the first one, pan the sound all the way to the left. do the opposite for the 2nd wav, pan to the right.

then go to -... you'll get a warning, just click OK. you'll get the save dialog, just save the new file...

once you have created the new wav, you can now delete the 2 original wav's to reclaim space...

then, go back into virtualdub, open up the original mpeg again... in the audio menu, change the choice from 'source audio' to 'wav audio'... open up the wav file you created with audacity.

if the video is fine in it's original form, then go into the video menu and change the choice to 'direct stream copy'... this will make it go a lot quicker since it doesn't have to redo the video.

you should now have a mpeg with 2 channels... you might have to play with the last step in virtualdub if it starts to come out with mis-synched audio/video.
