That's funny, I am always trying to keep my dial-up connection.

Don't you have the modem icon in your system tray?

#149576

nope for some reason mine never shows up in my system tray  (i think i have a bug or some service disabled or sum'n -_-

#149578

I think it's rasphone.exe under your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

Drag and drop this into your dock. If you have your connection on, then clicking this will enable you to disconnect. And vice versa. ;)

Hope that's what you wanted to know. ^_^

thanks dude it works :woot:

u guys r awesome ;)

(this is only if u haven't tried this already)

In the your dialup connection properties, under the general tab, there is a checkbox that says 'show icon in notification area when connected'.

Mine got turned off once, so that might be the same case with you.

;)

oh and if you have ur 'network connections' service disabled, u will still have connectivity, but the icon in the system tray wont show.

Glad that you guys find it useful. ^_^

this is really useful, but still... is there any way of adding an icon that's just like the connection status that appears on the win taskbar? showing the connection status (connected/disconnected)...

are there any switches for rasphone.exe that could automatically connect/disconnect a specific connection out of the ones i have, instead of having to choose one form the list?

You'd probably need some form of docklet for that, and I don't know of any... :( I would like something like this aswell... If anyone feels up to the challenge? ;)

add -d in the argument

just like: -d ultraslowconnection
