first off ,why the green color?

second, did you go to tools,option,themes?

#149314

Are you shrue there firefox themes, and not firebird themes?

#149316

I think this goes into Operative Systems / Software > Windows OS

@tarik,yeah,I go to tools options themes,only default skin there,no else.

@lostspyder, yes, i'm sure they are for firefox not for firebird.

@Seph,thanks for moving this thread.

:smartass: Hello,Taric,nice to see you again.

make sure firefox is closed,excuse me,does this mean to replace theme manually or....?

I had this same exact problem. IN addition to not being able to install themes, I could not install any extensions. The only workaround I coudl muster was to re-install FireFox, download but DON"T use the themes you want, and install the extensions you want. That's hwo I got it to work for me.

you can also install themes here: http://texturizer.net/firefox/themes/

it should automatically install, but sometimes it won't change until you go into options > themes and select the theme you want, then restart firefox.

So quickly to get your reply..My lucky..(excuse me,english not my mother tongue ;) )

:lol::lol::lol: I downloaded themes and tried to install from two websites, one is "Official" found in Bookmarks,the other lynchknot's..the same problem: browse,install, "use this theme now"yes,then download manager pops, firefox untouched.Even using remote url install, work not at all, same as above.I employed firebird before and firefox from its first appearance, and this is the first time I met things bizarre.

#150095

@inferno, thanks for sharing your experience. Resort to install, isn't it? :lol:

@dreamz,thank you. I can not find any other skins (options>themes) except for the original one. ;)

go into the chrome folder in your profile folder and delete the other theme files (there will usually be a number attached to it, e.g. smoke-1.jar, smoke-2.jar, etc. these sometimes interfere with the installation).

try again, and see if that helps.

i just realized you're using a nightly. themes may not work in nightly builds.

what theme are you trying to install?

#150108

:lol::lol: Dreamz,,yes,a nightly version.Absctract, Mostly crystal and some I forgot the names of , which have been deleted.

#150112

crystal hasn't been updated, so it won't work on your nightly.

you need to make sure the themes are compatible.

The 20040424 Firefox/0.8.0+ should allow you to install extensions and themes now. Nightly builds from April.17 on to April.23 had this bug I believe. Installing/unzipping new build to an empty directory will help fix it.

Another option that I used was to open up a earlier nightly build (as I use .zip versions) and install extensions and themes into the profile you want to use with that April.22 nightly. Also recent nightlies have a new option in advanced to check off whether you want to Allow web sites to install extension. (same for themes)

I'm using at moment on Xp pro:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040424 Firefox/0.8.0+
