I was wondering if someone was able to solve the photoshop button problem with tis VS. It will be great if someone can explain me how to do.
[help] Photoshop Button
I noticed you asked about this before and was referred to this pretty useless thread at DT2. (I've asked and got no help at all).
I think the whole problem is that most themes have only one size button included in them. If you look at the original Luna theme in StyleBuilder there is one button with several different size glyphs, and the sizing is set at Stretch. Although that thread above mentions using the Stretch property instead of TrueSize, which most do, this may work for the problem at hand but will make the buttons much larger everywhere else. I plan on doing some experimenting and figuring out once and for all exactly what size buttons need to be where in order for everything to work in harmony. Then, unlike those who claim they know but won't tell, I WILL let you know exactly what needs to be done. ![]()
Thnx man, your great, i hope you can make this working ![]()
knowledge is for all people~..
i honor people who will help & share~..
aside from people who doesn't~.. the hell to them .. :moon:
Ok, I think I have figured out the solution to the photoshop bug that plagues visual styles, although it's not a simple solution.
The main problem is that most of the vs's only contain one size button image for each of the close/min/max buttons, and they're used as the main image file without the use of glyphs. If you use StyleBuilder you will notice that there are 6 image files for the buttons/glyphs, and you can use either a combination of a blank button and different size glyphs, or a blank glyph and different size buttons.
The best thing to do is if you do have StyleBuilder, import the original Luna theme and look at the layout of the button and glyphs. You will notice that the main blank button is the main image file, while image files 1-5 are different size glyphs. You will also notice that the SizingType is set to 'stretch', while on most vs's now it is set to 'TrueSize'. (Simply setting the SizingType to 'stretch' on the single image will not solve the problem, unless you want all your other buttons to look like crap.) If you don't want to use glyphs, you would make the main image file a blank 'magic pink' image, and images 1-5 your various size button images, with #5 being the largest, or main button size.
Although this is a very general explanation, it gives you an idea as to why it seems most skinners don't want to deal with it because it seems that only Adobe products are affected, and re-sizing button images or glyphs to correct sizes is a very tedious task in itself. But since I dove this far in I will be updating my releases in the near future to correct the bug, since it only seems fair. ![]()
We should all have a big :orgy: (group huge NOT orgy!)
Cause unlike those other asses in the Other forum's here when we know it we share it!
Thanks man. I hope other people look at this thread before they work on thier next Visual Style. Oh and I just like to add that Window Blinds skins DO NOT suffer from this, mainlly because they use seperate images, a set for the big buttons and then another for small buttons. ![]()

Yes it is. And upon further inspection of your theme it is apparent that Adobe uses the "SmallCaption" close glyph and imagefile1 from the min and max glyphs.
SO, if you're using button images without glyphs, in each of the close, min and max buttons, you would make the main "imagefile" a blank "magic pink" image, "imagefile1" would be your smaller button image, and "imagefile5" would be your normal size button image. (Don't know if it makes a difference what size imagefile2-4 are, but to be safe I would use the large button also).
Then, the "smallcaption" close glyph should be a smaller button also.
Again, this is not as specific as it could be, because as with other things in life, size does matter :naughty: , so work with your images and if done correctly, you can eliminate the photoshop button bug. ![]()
BTW, thanks stefanka for your work!
