[question] Mac Os Boot Sound

Hi all,

I have a few Apple / Panther sound schemes but non of them includes the typical Mac boot sound (not the login). Is there anyone who has this 'boot' sound or is anyone wanting this sound too? Cause if not available i'll record it and put it online for you.

Thanks Wizard, but that scheme does not have a boot sound, the sound included is a login sound...

I mean the sound you hear when you power on your Mac...

That "boot" sound is stored in the firmware "bios" on the computer itself.

There's no real way of copying it to a wave or mp3 file.

You could always stick a mic in front of your Mac when you start it up I guess.

I personaly disable all sounds on my Mac so I haven't heard it in a while.

spngbb got a perfect link to the sounds, to bad the zipfile contains a powermac boot sounds that doesnt play on the PC but the PowrMac PCI sounds just fine!!

I think i'll record it anyway to have the most recent one and compare them...
