We should start a web-site and create a CD mix of all of our iPods' databases. We shall call it "iPods Gone Wild" An our celebrity host could be Seph.

Did you install the software that came with the iPod? I know it may sound stupid, but you didn't say that you did.

use 2.1 Updater
it will do anything for you :naughty:

[edit] i click on the updater, the little prog shows up and says its not connected. it needs it. lol

It should install the software without needing the iPod. Try downloading the newest software.

I would say one regarding miniPods, but it wouldn't be appropriate at all, and probably people will get too offended.
ok new prob. I finally found sbp2port.sys [ on my sisters computer, i just copied hers. ] now when i connect the ipod. i start up ipod updater 2.1, it loads and then it says "
Cant Mount iPod"..... I dont know what this means. I look on the iPod screen and it shows a warning sign and says Do not Disconnect.

hmmm
try doing it like this:
install the iPod 2.1 Updater from ur CD
reboot
connect ur iPod (disregard all windows' crap)
run start>programs>ipod>System Software 2.1>updater
format iPod with updater (use restore)
that should do it 
PS check ur FW card, it gave me a headache!!!
it wont let me. i open updater. cant mount ipod. i click ok. updater closes. thx for your help its just not friken working.
