[request/idea] Samurize Apple Menu

A good plgins to open menu could be start and stop, i'm gonna trying it and then tell you

First of all i will have to speak with crni because i use his ObjectBar Resources. If he allows me to use them and release it, i could finish them.

I'm still messing around with the menus, probably only the main menus (apple, finder, . . . ) will be accessable, no submenus because there are a lot. Also Synergy Controls will be working, the menus on the right (where you can see the icons) won't be accessable too (atleast not at the beginning).

Another bad thing is that i won't be at home until monday so i can't work on the configs.

Also which OB Themes do people want? I started with Jetblack because it's the theme is use right now, then i though of milk and panther standard. Or which themes do you use? Please note that i won't do all themes that crni released (if i get permission from him) only the ones that people accually need.

Please also note that this won't be nearly as functional as ObjectBar, so no effects and not all menus accessable, but it will be more than just eye candy.

Which Icon do you mean? One of the 4 right ones? 3 of them are available in crnis ob themes (but slightly modded to fit jetblack) and the display icon (the one on the far right) is ripped out of a swizcore preview screen of jetblack.

edit: i alreadly have some scripts, derek moddified the ones he uses in his multi-tabs configs.

Although as some of you already know, I'm quite busy (with life & work in the real world) at the moment, I'd be happy to help anyone if they need me.

A few thoughts:

you could use an ini file (kinda like a minidatabase: [menu1_item1], [menu1_item2] etc...) to track entries/shortcuts in the different menus.

My refresh script (properly tailored) could deal with the interactive menu thing-a-majigs.

I'd advise the project to be broken down into two or three parts: menus, taskbar, systray etc...

Let me know if anyone needs anything.

Sorry but i don't understand what you mean with the [menu1_item1] thing currently i will make all text editable and each text is linked to a program (atleast the most, some don't work)

and what exactly do you mean with interactive menu? i'm using moddified versions of the scripts that derek uses in his multi-tabs config, if i'm right you originaly made them and the work nice.

I don't know how to make systray.

The FinderBar? Because i have no knowledge of programming, or don't know how to even to that.

And samurize, because people asked for it and i know samurize. i use object bar so i'm doing this just for fun and for people that don't want to buy ob but want to use (a limited) version of finder bar.

Still working on it, hadn't much time lately to work on but i make progress. I call it MenuBar, currently only the main menus (apple. finder and stuff) will be accessable no submenus but you may edit all the text so you could also translate them into different languages. To make it possible to change to text i re-did most parts for easier editing. Most of the options/text will be "working" linking to programs, system commands or control panel options.

It will feature working player contols atm only for iTunes but probably if possible i will also include foobar and winamp versions.

The icons on the right side are just for eye candy only one menu will accessable and will have option to close the MenuBar.

Got Permission from crni to use his object bar resources and permission from Tadis to use scripts he created and modify them for my needs.

Need to seek permission from swizcore (jetblack) and Max Rudberg (Milk).

Currently working on Jetblack (about 50% done) and Milk (about 10% but will feature white/milk menus with milk/aqua/graphite/mercury apple and black menus with black apple).

Also i'm playing around with system commands linking and control panel options.

On april, 30 i postet a screen in the desktop thread showing my desktop, with MenuBar running no object bar!

I won't give a release date and then need to hurry myself, but if i do get permission from swizcore and Max Rudberg i would say i finish it within the next two weeks but probably i won't need 2 weeks but we will see.

Sic Zero, you're my hero, i'm so happy you're @ good point and that you're able to make thing work.

You don't know how happy i will be when you release it, but I will wait, if you prefer I will not ask anything else, it was only to bump the 3d.... and to know only how this was going.

About your screenshot, all i can say it's that it's perfect.

this might sound like a dumb question...but why not just make each menu item a widget? that way you could have all kinds of submenus

since samurize 1.50 there's no more script needed to change config so there's no problem to make multiple sub-folders
