I've stopped using it... It takes so many resources... With 2 cd drives an usb drive and a Firewire HD it takes 30% of processor... too much...

I'll have to wait until AveDesk 1.1 is released

I'm using 2 HD-s + 2 CD drives (DVD & CDRW) with animated HD activity indicators (refresh rate set to 500ms) and it takes 1-5% CPU time (mainly for animated png meters) on PIII 1000Mhz :blink:

Dunno... Maybe is the usb drive that takes too much resources.. .I'm gonna try...

EDIT: If I stop the instance with the DVD + DVDR + HD(Firewire)+ pendrive USB I get 20% less processor usage...

ah..... it takes 15% CPUT time ( 1 DVD, 1 USB) on my XP 2200+....... :cry:

i think it's not a P3, it's a G3.....

To make activity indicator:

1) Get yourself two led pngs (on/off)

2) Create the performance monitor > physical disk > disk time % > etc...

3) Make the meter an 'image' meter linked to the inactive png (step 1)

4) Enable alert value for the meter and when its above x% display the active png.

5) Place the meter over your main icon

For a removeable drive, the steps are more or less the same as above, only that your inactive png will be part of the icon png and in the meter (discussed above) the inactive (i.e. the default) png will be transparent.

I'm at work so I can't give better instructions but I hope I've relayed the gist of it.

Is there anyway to make the volume name to disappear like it does with the image when the cd is ejected? For instance I get the phrase [empty] when there is not a cd inserted. Is there someway to change samurize to chanse this "[empty]" to nothing at all?

Add another WMI type meter and under 'source' select your CD/DVD device with 'volume label' as argument.

Go to 'Display' and set your font and text color.

Go to 'General' , check 'Enable alert value'.

Under 'Alert when...' select 'Value Equals' and in the textbox write this : [Empty]

Set alert color to whatever you want and

- IMPORTANT - set alpha blending to '0' (zero).

Download this sample 'Automount' config and you'll see what I mean...

In the next release the language files can be edited so that the "[Empty]" (and many other errors) can be edited.
