Everytime my computer starts up i get a pop box message saying something like 'do you think there is something wrong?' and yes and no buttons. Clicking yes got another box saying 'you are smarter than i thought' . Now when i start my computer says in the pop-up something like ' i'm getting tired don't you think it is about time to report this.'
Is it a virus??? is computer about to self destruct. I hope someone can help me i am quite worried.

go to lavasoftusa.com, download the free version of ad-aware, update it and scan all the files on your computer (start > use custom scanning options > customize to scan within archives, select all your hard drives, click next, then scan...use this every time)
sounds like spyware to me
check msconfig and the run keys to see what's starting up.
also use spybot to scan, and scan with your av scanner.

in addition make sure you have the latest updates for spybot/AV before you scan 
i had the same problem a few months back... take a look at this thread, there were 10 viruses reported when i did a scan:

Sounds like it's one of those do-gooder malwares. I mean, hey, if your computer is popping up message like that, don't you think it's time to install an antivirus?
If you don't want to pay for one, at least download a free antivirus! There's no excuse!
Symantec (Norton) Antivirus offers a free full system scan. You need to use IE, but I consider Symantec to be trustworthy:

In addition, if you aren't running an antivirus scanner already, YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE. There are a number of pretty solid *FREE* antivirus packages out there. Of course, they're not quite as good as Symantec, but if you don't way to pay for their software, do us all a favor and install something like: (http://www.avast.com)Avast AVG Antivirus. It's free, it's pretty decent, it's easy to use, and there are even OSX-like skins for it. All you need to do is download the home edition, register (free) your download on their site (you don't have to give out personal info), and enter the key into your installed program.
OK i finally found it after trying 3 different virus scanners with none of them picking it up. I normally use Solo AV and Adaware scan regularly, but i still managed to pick this up. Was a worm called 'Kindal'.
On the topic of viruses, can anyone recommend the 'best' anti-virus prog. Something that catches everything, easily updated and easy on system resources.
By the way i used Diamonds TDS-3 the finally find what the other AVs couldn't and kill this midly amusing virus :staffs here:
If you're looking for a free virus scanner, i suggest avast! home edition. The virus definitions are updated very often, today 2 times.
It uses memory from 10 to 20 mb, which is quite much. But unless you're running 64mb, you're good

and people, you don't want this "cool" virus, it sucked, slowed down my system whereas it would take about (literally) 4 minutes to open up something like calculator. i realize you're all probably kidding (except you sick demented perverts out there), but those times were hard when i had it, emotionally draining :cry:
