Hello,
I have Windows XP pro and I set my default account up as Administrator. Now I would like to change that default name to my name. How could I go about doing this without using that users folder off the control panel? The reason for this is that on there to my knowledge you can't change the admin's name. If you know how using the control panel by all means let me know.

You can create a new user with Admin powers, but from what I know, you cannot change Administrator. It's always "Administrator", just like in *nix, it's always "root".
Yes I know you can't simply change things, but there are always ways to get around the code, flaws/cracks in the software.
Never mind somone else on another board told me.

You can change the username to anything you want in *nix.
You can't change the admin username on XP from the original (normally), but you could have made the account any name you want during the install/initial setup (I forget, it's been a while).
I know my Administrator account name is "Ben" (my name) and I didn't do anything special.
hmm I thought everyone did this. 
The first thing we networking students are taught about securing a Windows NT box is 'RENAME THE ADMIN ACCOUNT'...
Right-click 'My Computer' and click 'Computer Management'.
In Computer Management expand 'Local Users and Groups' and double-click on Users. The Users list opens in the right-pane.
Right-click on Administrator and click 'Rename'. Rename it to whatever you like.
