[idea/suggestion] Finder Sub-forum

Hi guys,

I don't know if anyone can relate to my problem, but I'm finding it hard to keep track of the different finder project currently in development.

I feel it would be easier to keep track if we had one subforum dedicated to finders. This way you don't have to scroll through aqua-apps, alilms, Tigs, Xplore threads/forums.

Just an idea, what do you think?

Thats a nice idea, the only problem i see though is that alilm has a finder clone :S where should we put that one?

#145298

I think that's the point (well half of it anyway  ) maybe we should organise the subforums by the type of project rather than the developer, this way we could have a subforum for finder, sherlock, widgets (AveDesk and Sam) etc... instead of by develop, because in more cases than one, a developer will work on a few varied projects, no?

Just a few friendly suggestions.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I honestly have lost track of all the new Finder clones. And organizing by type - why didn't I think of that :D

And good ones for that matter. ;)

Finder skins would go there right?

That would be like giving all the ATM clones their own sub-forum. I don't think it would work with the current layout of A-S.

Now what I want is a Developer section. Not a section for the Developers group, but a place to ask questions about VB, C++, Python, Delphi, et al. An oasis of all programmers. We have a web-development section, why not programming languages section?

#145449

no, but something like this...

Skins>Finders>Looca or Skins>Finders>Felix or whatever... given the new IPB2 forum depths, this could be posible...

1. We don't need ATM subforum because this area of customizing is almost dead, and Finders....they are evolving really fast.

2. Developer's Heaven - that's certainly a great idea. We'll try to do it.

I was using ATM as a metaphore.

Me too. I wanted to emphasize that Finder developers, this area of customizing is the most active area unlike to all other things. There is no other project that involves so much energy nowadays on AS in my opinion.

Oh well, we'll see what Tim will say

Only problem I have with creating all these requested subforums now are that they will be dead in a week, people here get bored so fast they'll post for the first few days then you won't see a post in that forum for weeks/months.
