[help] Can Some One Please Help Me

Recently i have purchased a compaq laptop. I have been having problems with it, and a computer technician told me that it was a hard drive problem. I have a 3 year hardware waranty and compaq said that the hard drive was not the problem, without even looking at the computer. I need a way to make the laptop seem un repairably ex. damage the lcd screen so that compaq will fix my damn computer. Please help me. My email is mrxniick@yahoo.com. I really need this. I basically spent all my money on my laptop. I just need a way to make it unrepairable without evidence that i did it.. Thank you al very much

Before we help you do something that is (probably, maybe I'm wrong...) violating some kind of warranty term or whatever...

What was the original problem?

THe problem was a faulty HD. I used that laptop maybe 2 times. And i started having problems with it. It was having all kinds of errors and it said that all 60gb of the HD was full. I tried a system recovery and i had the same problem. Now my laptop will not turn on. I asked the computer technician at my office and one at bestbuy to look at it and they said that the problem was the Hard drive. Compaq will not even look at it. As you can see, i am in need of help

how many times have you bothered compaq?

kinda sounds like a customer service issue.

edit: if it really is the harddrive, you should really put their balls to the wall, get a refund, and take your business elsewhere.

I have called them and talked to 10 different people. After i get my laptop fixed or a new one sent. I am selling it and buying a mac, but someone please help me. I need to get compaq's attention, help me make this unrepairable. I know the best way to do it is the LCD

As i have been posting, i called compaq yet again. I asked them to simply look at my computer and they said and i qoute " it is not our responsibility to inspect a computerm, it is the job of a computer technician." And i told them i checked with two. They told me to do a system recovery, when I CANT EVEN TURN MY COMPUTER GONE. I just need a way to damage the LCD. i am in no doubt at all that will get their attention

My compaq laptop has issues, too. When i close the lid it turns the screen off but not the hard drive so i have to unplug it and reboot. And the battery died just after 6 months so now i can't use it unplugged.

compaq = c-r-a-p :(

dude, have you got a case number associated with your name/comp.

if you do, they're not gonna buy into doing that.

it sounds like you have a valid case... how old are you: if your young take it to your parents

and they'll make comaq bleed. If your older, just keep getting on them (without getting too angry) and they'll have to fix your problem. You prob. just need to get the right person on the phone.

if you bust it intentionally you could invalidate you valid claims.

edit: it is their responsibility to check your computer if it is a waranty claim.

it only isn't their responsibility if the claim is invalid.. ie. they can charge you $ after inspecting the computer and finding it is not a warranty related issue.

Good point.

If you damage the laptop intentionally, they can and probably will invalidate the warranty on it. Not a good thing. :(

I had a Compaq for over 4 years and had only on problem. The fan died and fried my CPU. Not only did Compaq issue me a loner they also gave me a cd burner.

don't intentionally break it. if you don't know all the legal aspects of the situation, you could be digging yourself a hole.

call and bug them about getting a replacement hard drive. really pressure them into it. tell them about contacting the better business bureau, etc. about their customer relations.

yes. get on their case, but dont get to angry as realitybath said. BBB [better Business Bureau], heck Even call their Human Relations department, and get the names of all the operators you talk to and then just have their names in case.....Dont break it intentionally, thats plain foolish. You prolly have a case, but you again as realitybath has put it, you just need the right person. Maybe all 10 of those people are rotten, but their should be one good seed.
