Serious Samurize V1.41 Released

Bugfixes:

* fixed memory leak with image ratio option

* fixed peaking bug

* fixed rare selection bug in config editor

* fixed analog line width bug

* fixed image path bug for Image graphic object

Improvements:

* updated AMPI plugins (kudos to Tropics)

* file path displayed in config editor title

* option to disable green/red config outline (and the warning)

* next/prev keys changed to pgdn/pgup to allow field tabbing

* scrolling in the Tools and Settings area reduced by introducing more tabs

* more uptime options

* new sample config (cheers Em7)

* password encryption for POP3 password in config files

* latest 4 config files opened appear in the file menu

Is it me, or does Samurize should still be considered beta? I mean, I have never seen a program updated so much. And that's not a good thing. I've stopped using Samurize since 1.1 days because of this.

You have to download a new version of Samurize when you want to use a new script. No wonder why they had problems with bandwidth.

actually script compatibility hasnt changed since version 0.85 or something like that,

only new change that broke some scripts was the new client parameter needing a i- before the instance name

i agree with wizard

for us modem users, this is a nightmare

i am thankfull for fast bugfixes but dloading 4.5megs every 2 days is not my idea of fun :cry:

Samurize is not beta...

The major updates are to add new features and improvements. Every now and again I have to release a quick fix (like v1.41) for very minor issues that did not come up in testing - if you don't have any problems or need any of the new features, then don't update - it's as easy as that.

And it's not like we're asking you to download 50MB or anything.. 5MB isn't very much these days?

btw Slayertime - all the changes you listed are actually the changes from v1.40. There were only 2 changes in v1.41:

Bugfixes:

* new POP3 encryption

* fixed Rectangle draw object glitch

I also prefer to push out small releases often instead of waitng like 2 months and making a big relelase - it keeps people interested. I'm actually rather surprised; usually people complain about programs not being updated enough - this is a case of a program being updated too much?

Nem, I great respect towards your program and you, but I am on 56K, and redownloading (5 megs is a lot to me, in fact I am still on iTunes 4.0), and reinstalling a program every few weeks gets old and annoying. But I have to update because the script is specifically written for the new version to take advantage of a new feature.

There is a "could be" great Samurize artist here that quit creating scripts because every time a new version comes out, it breaks it, and then he has people barking up his a$$ to fix it.

This is not meant to disrespect you or your program, I am just stating my opinion.

well it's actually around 10 megs for the people that dl the release and then get the update that comes about 2 or so days later.

i love the program, it's great, and i think we all appreciate the work you put it. nobody's forcing anyone to download - people should use the "if it's not broken don't fix it approach" as opposed to "get it while it's hot off the press".

Here's a fix for the Milk Suite so it works in v1.4x btw.. just the 3 media configs needed a small tweak.

Even with that lil fix I'm still havin problems with the album art script. I'm not getting any album art at all! :rant:

Also when I tried to install v1.41 I got the following errors:

Error 1:

Error opening file for writing:

"C:\Program Files\Object Desktop\IconPackager\Themes\Crystal SVG Pro\Crystal SVG Pro\wacs\WA3Samurize.wac"

...I don't have a folder titled wacs in that folder. So I hit ignore to skip it.

For some reason version 1.41 (I don't know about the others, though.) with the AMPI plugin won't display information about foobar 0.8.1. Is anyone else having this problem? The plugin will still display the newest Winamp and iTunes.

what's the leanest version of samurize? it seems like it takes a while to load at startup, and i'm just running a weather plugin, calendar, and some meters.

Wll... i´ve installed the 1.41 and not a problem sofar... just, like writed on the readme, i had to retype my pop3 password... but everything is ok now.

I support the fast small updates that is released from time to time and love it. but, i´m on fast internet. But, anyway, any 56kbps users could just wait with older version until the new features acumulates, that, aftes 3 or 4 releases, download and update. That would be almost the same as Samurize being update just once in 2 or 3 months.
