miniPods aren't available in England/Scotland? Could you probably buy it through the Apple's Online Store and ship it to you?
About the buggyness, Apple said if you have a problem, you can replace it with in 6 months for free with a new one (they were having problems with the way the head phone jack was saudered on). And it's just so darn cute!
The company that supplys the hard drive for Apple have been caught short of the demand and worldwide availability wont be available for around two months.
Apple will not ship outside the US because they have a seperate online store for each country and therefore will not ship outside the US from the US store.
Your only option really is eBay there are always plenty of iPods and minis on there with the option to ship worldwide.
