[request] Feedback On My Site

Its Still a work in progress but I would love some comments / ideas etc or constructive feedback .. NOTE the use of Constructive ! lol dont just flame it ... please be helpful.

like I said still under major construction - not sure if all browsers can get in it at the moment I hear there is an issue with opera :( something I`ll have to fix.

only semi content is the news and the forum at present - adding content etc over the next two days.

Looks very nice. I like how you reused the splash page for the site design itself. I'm not too fond of iframes myself though. I'm glad the forum isn't in an iframe.

The color scheme works well for a dark theme.

Looks very nice...

Drop the iFrame, get you ass over to css2

The only observations i have are...

1.- why have a slapsh screen? looks good but when the site is composerd by all those images from imageready it takes a long enough time to load, if you pretty much double the loading time the viewer experiences before he/she can actually USE the site, it will end up with a lot of people not bothering clicking trough the splash screen.

2.- a bit too dark,. peopl ewith LCD screens that dont cost more than 700 usd (And even some taht cost that much) will find themselves squeezing their eyes to see what you offer there. Try to add some contrast, play a little with colors.

Overall though, looks very good. :D Keep it up

definitely like it. The load time is kinda high (I mean if someone where on dial-up) but I like it. I love how you did the wallpapers as the polaroids. (how did you do that?)

Easy ..

Thumbnail the original images -

Then load em into photoshop - then just use the stroke option - i had mine set to about 10 i think .. play with stroke inside / outside - .. just select the colour white obviously ..

Then when you have the image surrounded by your outline just use the rectangle marquee tool and select part of the white at the bottom of the image . then CTRL - T on pc to transform that selection - drag it down so it looks like a polaroid image -

Then flatten all your layers and hit CTRL - T again to transform it but just rotate the image .. or dont bother if you want it to look straight -

I just played around with dropshadow and outer glow on mine but takes you about a minute to make them its that easy.

it might have been sluggish by the way because i could well have been playing UT2k4 on the network and it would have bogged the webserver down lol ! :)

i concur about the style... it is looking good... about the frame, if you're going to use it, i would say make it taller so the viewer can see more at once, as opposed to having to scroll as much

I think you should make a VS/WB4 skin based off the site :P
