[help] Coreldraw Or Illustrator?

I´ve used CorelDraw for a loooong time, but tryed to give Illustrator a chance. Besides some very nice features, Illustrator just lacks the simplicity of Corel (or maybe i´m just not professional enough?)

Pros of Illustrator: The filter (third partys or not) like 3D, KPT Vector Tools, and that one on CS that make your verctor looks like child scretch. Hand drawnings on Illustrator just look so much more natural than on Draw. Total integration with Photoshop. You can Control+C a path on Illustrator and Control+V on Photoshop.

Cons: Lacks of a Font Navigator... and Adoba Type Manager is no match for BitStream Font Navigator. Drawning bezier on Illustrator is much harden then on Draw, and you achieve the same result. Lacks of Interactive tranparency and Interactive Fountain Fills.

And you... what Vertor tool you use? and Why?

Am a H-U-G-E fan of Xara X.

Have been using this software since it was Artworks of the Acorn Archemedies, and for speed and simplicity it is IMHO still unsurpassed. It has not had an update for a few years, and is missing some of the latset bells and whistles that Illustrator and CorelDraw now have; but with an install of 15mb and a price tag of only $170 / £80 is well worth a look.

Personally I'm an Illustrator fan... I don't know why but I never did really get along too well with Corel products... Maybe I haven't tried enough, and maybe if I persevered I would get some results... For now, though, I'm an Illustrator user.

a question real not to discuss. illlustrator all the way. forget corel. for some "playing-around" corel may be enough, for real work to do, just two tools to use: illu or freehand.

Oh, and I forgot to add: I have both of them but I prefer Illustrator. It's just close to Photoshop, almost the same shortcuts and icons. I feel more 'creative' when I'm in Illustrator than in Corel.

I have Illustrator and Photoshop and I prefer Photoshop.

I have Photoshop 7 on my PC and Photoshop CS on my Mac.

I used to be a die-hard Paint Shop Pro user until I used Adobe products.

I hate Fireworks and corel products just don't seem to "click" for me.

I'll stick with Adobe. :rock:
