[request] Music Banner Desklet

I was watching MTV this morning and thought that it would be great to have a desklet/app that could bring up a banner to show the next song playing, that would appear at the start and end of a song. The time its shown could be configurable and set to on top/desktop as well as transparency and even the possibility to have the album cover shown along side.... is this possible and could someone make it please.

lol yeah i though... a banner predicting MTV's program... he's mad!!

it could be great but does any of your players know before to play it, witch song it'll play... i think it's possible with Foobar Shuffle but i'm prety sure that windows media player and winamp can't do it in shuffle mode...

that's something to develop

Well currently ALL my players can display what they are playing right now

But all I was thinking was that a banner would appear once the new track started playing, stayed on screen for 3-5 seconds then disapeared. Then reappeared for the last 3-5 seconds before the new banner for the next song appeared. So it would just have to pull the current play list info from the player nothing too technical.

As far as i know there is a konfabulator widget that does this mtv inserts. I think it displays it over an album cover. So probably could be done easily with samurize.

yeah you got it on WMP when you put in "task bar mode", each new song played it announced

you also got it in Foobar when you enable "tooltips balloon" on the system tray

Don't know if the fade in and out thing is possible with samurize.

The new version of winamp 5.03a does this automatically as long u turn on the notifcations option in the settings . its displays when the song changes and shows the tittles and then fades out . u can also setup how much time u want it to display
