[preview] Powderdesktop

Hi to all,

I know that it will seem an AveDesk clone, but Andreas given his "permission" ...

Ok stop joking...

Here is the screenshot:

This is a C# coded desktop application that follow the feeling of AveDesk.

Oviously it's an alpha state, but the goal is to make an application that allow the use of managed (.net coded) and unmanaged (I hope Avedesklets too) desklets and plugins.

Actually it's support some features like:

- Fully configurable icons (font, image, size, position, opacity)

- Alpha blending effects on mouse movements

- Shortcut support (if the target it's a folder, you can see it's contents in the label:))

- Nicely control panel with enhanced item-preview list updated in real time.

the plugin and stand-alon desklets support it's in yard with some moore features.

Well, that's all folks....so please tell me what do you think.

Oh! another thing: please don't ask me the release date, please! the first release will come very early, for sure!

-is it compatible with Avedesk desklets/objectdock docklets/yzdock docklets?

-does it have some kind of theme-managing feature?

-what is the msstyle that you're using? It's lovely

-can you please use thumbnails?

but what makes it different from Avedesk?

Basically that it's in C# and with the plugin support you can use C#, VB.Net, managed C++, Cobol .Net, Java#.... to make plugins

Yeah, yourright: you all need some news.

The coding progress of PowderDesk it's a bit delayed, coz my job activity still killing me. I addiction to this, I'm preparing my wedding for september...:)So you can imagine my free time amount.

However, I'm exited to put my hands on PD evey time I can!

BTW I'm very glad of your intrest about it and the only thing that I can say it's: keep stay tuned.

What are the advantages of your app compared to AveDesk?? system comptibility, ressources, OS integration, easier to script??

Hi, Monsieur Kerin.

For now PowderDesk can't be comapred to AveDesk, coz many of its features are still on the paper, but the main goal is to make an application that support both managed (.net, VB6...) and unmanaged (C/C++, delphi...) languages.

This want to say that (in theory) anyone will be able to make (and fastly ) any kind of desklets/plugins for it.

So it's a little early to make comparisons.
