[help] Search Bars Too Long

I am having a problem that I have spent weeks trying to solve--I can't seem to find the cause. It occurred after I finallized all my GUI tweaks (objectdock, objectbar, windowblinds, FlyKite's GUI pack, etc, etc).

All search bars/text-entry bars display too long on webpages so most web pages need to be scrolled left-right just to see it all. (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE). I mean even Google.com's main page needs to be scrolled left-right.

Any help would be MOST appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you know what? I have the same exact problem.

I think it is a registry key that a font name was changed and it sets the width equivalent to the font's character width. I have just been too lazy to mess around with it.

If anybody has an answer, it would be really appreciated.

I have removed Window Blinds and it help only slightly. So that isn't the cause of the issue.

Any ideas?

Ok, I am about to give up. I reverted from FlyKite's SP1 pack and it didn't help... I was even willing to forgoe his excellent pack to fix the issue....damn it.

I can't seem to isolate the problem.

"llama" Two l's.

It has nothing to do with system files. I haven't replaced any and I still have this problem. I also don't use WindowBlinds, ObjectBar or anything else. Just MSStyles, FireBird (no theme), and Y'z Dock.

I'm only getting this using explorer...ie and Looca are fine. Weird.

I had the same exact problem. To fix it I had to change the font back to MS Shell Dlg and Tahoma under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes. Tahoma goes under MS Shell Dlg 2 and font MS Shell Dlg goes under MS Shell Dlg. Hope this helps.

Well that did the trick, thank you!

I do miss having Lucida Grande in my text boxes though.
