Accurate Osx Boot Screen

Has anyone seen (or made) a boot screen based off of OSX? And when I say that I don't mean the blue OSX boot screen that's floating around. I mean one that is just a kind of dark grey background with a light grey apple logo in the center with the little spinning throbber. I attempted to make it myself and for the progress bar image I was going to use the static image of that throbber and just have it go across the screen as it loads, but I can't get it to work properly.

I've seen tutorials and programs to make boot screens but I just can't seem to get it to work properly when I use Photoshop. Anyone that knows how to make one could EASILY do it, but I just can't seem to get it to work.

Thanks in advance.

I think I have seen it ;):P

Just kidding.. I have Jaguar and I have seen it twice (since I have only resarted once :)). Its sweet with this circular widget that spins round and round and..

i got it, it's here:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/ieub/files/ntoskrnl.exe

it's not accurate enough for me aslong as it's not the little circle loading stuff but the default XP in grey, but it's always better than anything.

hope it'll help...

BTW it's for non SP1 XP, i don't wanna cause a crash ;)

Yeah I need one for SP1. It is pretty sweet Taha. It's simple yet just nice looking, and since it only really requires two colors it shouldn't look too pixelated like most boot screens. It would extremely easy to make an accurate one, and I tried, I had the images all laid out but when I tried to save the ntoskrn.exe file it saved but didn't work. So yeah, I don't know exactly how to make one work. Tons of people make them so it should be something easy to do.

help... :(

Dude I tried that bootscreen,.. in my opinion it's pretty bad though, it looks 8-bit.

If someone would redo the boot screen that's floating around (I.e. the quantum foam blue wallpaper with the white interlaced square in the middle containing the blue apple) it would be great.

What do I mean with redo?

1. Well the screen has white borders an inch thick,.. just remove them.

2. After the bootscreen finishes the screen goes white for 3 seconds instead of the standard XP black. This is wrong it should be black. The white is just too bright, and looks like there is something wrong.

I have the Jaguar bootscreen for XP SP1 users...

sorry about that dude, but do i have to remind you that when XP is loading, it can't be more than 640x480x256 colours, i can't do anything about that, but let me know if you have a really accurate one...

thx

Could someone post a screenshot of those boot screens.

ieub,

Yeah I know that XP doesnt allow more than 256 colours for the boot screen, but the osx screen that's floating around (the quantum blue wallpaper) really looks ok though.

If somebody would reshack the bitmap out of the original aqua, all we'd need to do is a selective colour reduction in photoshop. (i.e. select a part of the image which has the colours we want to keep (i.e. a logo) and then colour reduce)

then if you like the floating box, i have the same as quantum but with the mac jaguar wallpaper, just let me know if you're interested...

#11317

It's not that I like it, i'd rather have the original, it's just that I guess it's the best one out there.

Thanks for the jaguar, but I'm even trying to persuade iceman to do his 2.01 using the old aqua button colours!

I don't like jaguar.

If you know how to mess around with the bootscreen, try and remove the white borders and white screen off of the quantum blue bootscreen.

(PS:// the one I have (blue) is for non sp1, I know the jag one is for sp1, so watch out.)
