I've been keeping an eye on my simple Samurize for more than 30 minutes.
at 9:50 VM size was 1868K
at 10:05 VM size was 2140K
at 10:10 VM size was 2236K
at 10:12 VM size was 2268K and I hide it for a while
during that period, no increase in VM size
at 10:15 VM size was 2312K after I show it up again
at 10:25 VM size was 2540K
and now, at 10:33 VM size is 2648K
Is there a memory leak or something?
My simple Samurize:

dude, even if its a memory leak... seriously whats 2 or 3 megs out of your sytem memory... I support lostspyder: for real get out and get some sun 
But what if I keep it running for like 10 days? A 240M leak?
Often programs clean out the unused memory at certain intervals. It may be every hour or every 2 hours,etc. The only way to tell is by running it for DAYS.
Also, it could simply be caching some data.
And if it's Virtual Memory, don't worry about it. Often, logs,etc are stored there. If it's not using your regular memory, it's not a big deal.
VM is what it would use without windows memory management, there is probably a memory leak but as long as it doesnt use real memory.
NeM is trying to catch all the ones he can so eventually it should be taken care of, but it doesnt happen for everyone.
I am really new at this. So what really counts is the real memory usage, not the VM value, huh?

True (though in the end if VM looks ok it means that the app is really optimized which is always better and means more performance etc.. etc.. but it is a way for programmers to focus on stuff first then on memory management)
Anyone want to hear my memory rant again?
THERE IS NO ACCURATE WAY TO TELL MEMORY USAGE. This is due to a number of factors:
1. Windows Task Manager/memory reporter lies. It shows memory as free when it's not.
2. Closed programs/old data are cached in RAM. Every OS does this to speed things up. It's not a big deal, because that cache is freed when programs need it.
3. Programs may be caching things themselves, like logs, undo, etc that will be freed if needed
And most importantly:
1. You don't WANT free memory. You payed for all that RAM, don't you want to use it? Unlike harddrive, your system isn't any slower at 100% memory usage than at 1%.
Where you get slow is if 101% of your memory is truly being used, and you have to use swap. Swap is very slow.
So basically, if your system isn't slowing down, ignore it. Even the Windows Memory manager has gotten decent at freeing unused memory.
As an example, Mozilla Firefox is using 100MB of memory now. I have 256MB. That may seem like a big deal, but if I go to compile something, etc, Firefox's memory usage goes to 15MB. All of that was disposable memory.
I can even watch my cache meters go down as real intensive programs run.
I have had PS CS8 and samurize open for a week straight, no restarts, and I experienced no slowdown. Also, I only have 256 SRAM.
I think it is a problem.
After 10 hrs running, 13280K!
And it keeps going up...
But I should forget it, huh?
I am going to look into it, but as these guys have said, there may not be a serious problem.
I run Samurize through MemProof, a memory leak detection program, on a regular basis and resolve any leaks it finds. There's already a leak with the dynamic images that I am aware of and it will be fixed in the next release. I'll run it through MemProof again tonight though just to be sure.
When will it likely be released? Cuz i hate restarting samurized to free up the memory that samurize has been keeping.
It will be released when it's done. It doesn't come any faster if you have a date for it.
