Found:ie6 Splash & Change Connecting Internet Icon

EDIT: Found the splash for ie6, but how to enable it I don't know. Read down to "various other tidbits".

"Ok the connecting internet icon , i.e. the 2 monitors that pulsate with blue screens and the little phone in the bottom right corner, can be changed with the standard Aqua internet icon in:

netshell.dll--> Icon group: 1902 1906 1915 1918

If you use the "faded" i.e. grayscale version of the Aqua Internet icon in 1915, your final icon will pulse from the normal "blue" internet aqua icon, to grayscale then back to blue as packets are sent and received. (when you use the "connection status" window. I.e. double click your connection icon in the taskbar.)

Also using a grayscale version of the aqua internet icon in 1915, will cause your dialup connection to be grayscale when not connected and colour when connected.

Various other tidbits

shdocvw.dll-->: bitmap 336 Is a splash screen for internet explorer 6, how to enable it I don't know.

wiashext.dll --> In the icon group you can change your THUMBNAIL view ICONS (i.e. the rest of what (yellow)is visible behind the customised pictures representing your folder) from the standard yella to blue.

I've spent about 3 hours wading through system files and I AM GETTING SICK OF IT, if someone knows where the Microsoft Office Word splash screen is please tell me, I am losing my mind."

are you sure about this cos flyakite told me it was in shell32 & i've switch in both shell32 & wiashext but doesn't seem to work even after a reboot...

#13860

yes, wiashext doesn't really apply. If you notice in Reshacker, there is NO XP version of the thumbnail folder, just 16 color and 256 color versions. That's why you know that it is shell32.dll that really takes care of it, since it DOES contain an XP color version.

so i'm getting crazy i've switch it in wiashext.dll shell32.dll & explorer.exe but i still have this orange preview folder could it be because of non-SP1, i don't think so but i don't see what could cause this...

#13863

Oh.... okay, I know what is going on. The problem is, if you have Windows set to cache thumbnails, it stores the thumbnail image in the images themselves. So even if you were to reformat, install new system files, and check, they'd be yellow. What you need to do is, when in Thumbnail View, select all of your thumbnail folders, right click, and select "Refresh Thumbnail"

Care to post the blue version of the thumnail folders icon?

I'm getting tired of MS Paint.

#13867

thx for the tip flyakite it finally works great!!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Your link is bust though,...

#13871

ehhm thats just the standard folder icon. not the icon flyakite put up 2 posts ago.

#13876

Check my link above, I fixed it. I forgot I had that icon in a temp folder on my web space.

#13877

Thanks ieub's file worked though. I didn't realise that it was an .ico file for the folders icon GROUP.

It looked like the standard folders icon,.. but replacing icon group 4 in shell32.dll, did the trick.

That .ico that ieub put up was the same as yours, it had the blue thumbnail view folder icon inside it.

thanks man.

#13878

of course it was the same, cos flyakite gave it to me yesterday...;)
