Western Digital 36gb 10000rpm Sata

Im lookin into gettin a Western Digital 36GB 10000RPM Sata drive mostly to see if theres a noticable speed difference. Im usin a Maxtor 120 gig ultraATA currently. If anyone has used one or even SCSI id like to hear your opinion. Im mostly lookin for the answer to: "Is it worth the $ for the speed?" The price isnt bad but still its $.

i have the wd 36gb 10krpm sata drive. it works great and it is noticeably faster when loading stuff or multitasking. my previous drive was wd 80gb 8mb cache i think. i don't play any games or edit any videos so i can't say how much those are affected. i'm guessing its not too much gain compare to the price you pay. i don't need a lot of disk space on my workstation so i'm willing to pay more for a smaller faster drive. most of the time i just use computer to write programs or watch movies.

sata and 10k. you'll get a nice boost. :)

i haven't tried it myself, but people who have raided them really love it.
